Árbol endémico y melífero que tiene numerosas flores fragantes de color púrpura o rosado. Se cultiva como árbol ornamental y tiene propiedades insecticidas. Puede alcanzar hasta 25 pies de altura, su crecimiento es moderado y su copa es en forma de sombrilla. Tolera ambientes secos y húmedos y es recomendable para áreas urbanas con poco espacio.
